100 Deadliest Days Begins This Weekend

Prosecutor Tyler Dunman, with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division was lakeside, flanked by law enforcement, as he announced the start of the “100 Deadliest Days” campaign that begins this weekend.

Dunman said starting Memorial Day Weekend, there would be increased DWI enforcement on the roadways and on Lake Conroe, with the assistance of the Game Wardens and the Pct. 1 Constable’s Office.

“We hope to alleviate the increase in Driving While Intoxicated and Boating While Intoxicated from Memorial Day to Labor Day,” Dunman said.

The summer months traditionally see a significant increase in driving and boating arrests and fatalities.

“We’re hoping to keep the pressure on,” Dunman said. “Basically, we want to have people make smart decisions, have a plan for when they come out on the lake, have someone stay sober and drive their boat or drive their vehicle when they leave here.”

The veteran prosecutor said safety was simply a matter of “planning ahead and being safe.” By so doing, Dunman said “everyone can come up and enjoy the lake and what Montgomery County has to offer.”
