A dear friend and awesome County Commissioner has passed away. Pam Finke, age 50. Finke who has been the Grimes County Commissioner since 2002 won the last election with 46% of the vote over three other opponents was nothing but a hard worker, she loved the county and all the residents of her precinct. She remained on the front lines during the wildfires never taking a break. Recently she has been very outspoken in the fight on the power line easement coming through Grimes County and the High Speed Rail threatening to cut many residents properties in two.
She was always there to support law enforcement and the fire service. It wasn’t unusual to see her on scenes of fires, crashes, even a large animal seizure years ago.
Finke was admitted to St. Josephs Hospital in Bryan Monday after what was diagnosed as bronchitis. Tuesday afternoon a blood clot was found between her lungs. She passed just after 4pm.
