Approximately 2:00p.m. Saturday afternoon Cut and Shoot and North Montgomery County Fire Departments responded to a reported major accident with a vehicle on fire on FM 1484 near Barts Lake.
When they arrived on the scene they found a PT Cruiser had struck a tree and was fully involved in fire. They extinguished the fire. The driver was unconscious but had already been removed from the vehicle. He wasn’t burned but due to loss of consciousness Life Flight , who was in the area was requested. Just as Life Flight was landing the driver regained consciousness and all his vitals were stable. A decision to transport him by ground was made that way leaving the helicopter available for another emergency if something came in.
The driver whose drivers license was from out of the country was not as of yet positively identified. He is believed to be out of the Cleveland area.
There was a slight curve in the road where he left it striking the tree, state sign and fence.
FM 1484 was closed for over an hour as the investigation continued.
