Monday night just after 9 pm a black Mercedes SUV pulled into the Circle K/Valero at Jefferson Chemical and FM 3083 (4 Corners). Both males got in and out of the vehicle several times. A short time later a man pulled up to the fuel pumps in his 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup. He then realized he didn’t have his billfold and called for his wife to bring it to him. With him in the store and the keys in the ignition, one of the males wandered to the pickup, got in, and drove off toward Grangerland with the fuel hose in the vehicle. The Mercedes left headed toward Crighton Road. The entire episode was captured on store security video. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and took the report. Several security images were posted on Montgomery County Police Reporter. Early Tuesday morning Montgomery County Dispatchers took a call from someone who recognized the driver of the stolen vehicle and reported he was on Sweet Gum Drive in Lake Wildwood off FM 1485. Montgomery County responded to the scene just in time to see Nicholas August Laroche, 49, of 4110 Taurus Circle in College Station, drive up in the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $3000.
