Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 16200 Tomball Parkway near Beltway 8 at about 10:55 p.m. on Thursday (February 17). The identity of the deceased female, 28, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Hroch and Officer C. Brothers said the victim was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck northbound on SH 249 when, for unknown reasons, she left the roadway. The truck hit a guard rail, flipped over, and struck a large street sign pole. The victim was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved in this crash. As officers were investigating that crash a possibly intoxicated motorist struck an HPD patrol SUV that was controlling traffic. The officer was injured and transported to Memorial Hermann in Houston in stable condition.
