FLOOD RECOVERY CONTINUES

From the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management:

 

We are still waiting and hopeful that we will receive a Presidential declaration, to get Individual Assistance and help from the Small Business Administration. To date, the Office of Emergency Management has received over 1000 reports of damaged homes and businesses. If you have damage from the May severe weather, please register your damage on our website www.mctxoem.org or you may call 936-523-3916.

 

Beginning today, the United Way is hosting BCFS and their Immediate Disaster Case Managers. These Immediate Disaster Case Managers are a single point of contact for a variety of resources and services.

 

They can provide you with:

·       Information on resources available in your area

·       Assistance with FEMA registration or appeals

·       Relocation services

·       Creating a personal recovery plan to overcome issues caused by the floods

·       Disaster-related unmet needs

 

Their location will be open every day from 10am 7pm: United Way Office 1st floor

There will be three Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Montgomery County. These facilities are open for those residents who have questions or concerns about the FEMA process, programs, and to ask questions related to your case. Their hours of operation and locations are as follows:

 

West Montgomery County:

Opening at noon on Monday June 13, 2016:

Magnolia Community Building 422 Melton St.

Magnolia, TX 77354 Monday Friday 8am 6pm Sunday 2pm-6pm

 

South Montgomery County

This location will be closing on today Friday June 10, 2016:

All Hubs are prepared to accept and distribute food and supplies, bottled water and monetary donations. Items most in need: baby food, baby formula, diapers, new undergarments, hygiene products, water, squeeze pouch fruit and vegetables, easy open canned fruit and vegetables, pasta and convenience meals, granola bars, toilet paper, paper towels, mops, brooms, garbage bags.

Montgomery County Food Bank will be accepting mass quantity food, personal care items and toiletries donations at:

Monetary donations and Home Depot/Lowes Gift Cards to help county-wide flood recovery efforts can be directed to:

There is also the Free Flood Home Cleanup Hotline 1-800-451-1954 to find assistance in mud-outs, debris removal, and cleaning up of your flooded home. This service is free and ends on July 1, 2016. Due to the overwhelming need, services are not guaranteed.

You may also call the United Way 2-1-1 helpline for other social services or community resources, such as food, clothing, shelter, insurance or FEMA registration questions.

 

Debris pickup will continue over the weekend. Remember to separate your debris in the following piles:
