MAGNOLIA WOMAN KILLED AS HORSE BOLTS

On Sunday Jeanine McMinn, 62 of Magnolia was trampled and killed by a horse at the 25th Annual American Novice Horse Association Shoot Out, an annual competition for barrel racers and riders who participate in pole bending. The event held every year at the Heart of Texas Fairgrounds in Waco.

The event was a competition of barrel racers and pole benders.

According to police who are considering the incident an accident, McMinn was run over by a horse that was being led through a pen. That horse spooked and bolted.

McMinn has given much of her life for the children of the area. She was very involved in the Community and with 4-H projects. This included showmanship at halter, timed events and horse judging classes.

Later Sunday night, McMinn’s daughter, Tiffani Wooten ran a barrel race in her mother’s memory with the support of the entire crowd. In a Facebook post, Wooten said her mother died doing what she loved.

Visitation for Jeanine McMinn, 62, of Magnolia will be held Wednesday from six to eight p-m at Magnolia Funeral Home, located at 811 South Magnolia.
The service will be held Thursday at one p-m, also at Magnolia Funeral Home.
