Law enforcement officials spent most of Friday investigating a drug operation in Porter. It was late Friday afternoon when a van was spotted which was possibly involved. That van with tape over the tail lights was stopped on Community Drive between I-69 and Loop 494. The traffic stop took place in front a day care center and because of the occupants possibly being in a drug operation Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies quickly had a wrecker move it out of the area.
A dog was used to search the vehicle and found 10 kilos of cocaine in tightly bundled packages.
According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department officials, there were 5 arrests made. Several of the arrests were residents of the valley. They were transported to the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million dollar bond.
Wholesale price for the amount of cocaine found is close to $400,000,
Deputies also seized a fake Department of Public Safety windbreaker.
