Comments: PLEA ?URGENT HELP NEEDED? We currently have 9 nursing moms and 2 moms in active labor. Despite pleas for help for some of these moms, we have yet to find any takers. This simply cannot continue! The puppies’ health is at risk, and the moms are stressed. The shelter is not an ideal place to raise a family and we need your help to make sure these families stay safe and healthy. FOSTERING for MCAS: Foster for the shelter. We provide supplies and all vetting. Make it a once in a life time commitment and help keep a family healthy! RESCUES: We need rescues to help us. If any rescues have available fosters that are willing to help, please reach out. If you’re not able to help with a family, you can still make a big difference. Please contact your State Representatives and State Senators and demand Spay and Neuter laws. This alone will not solve the problem, we also need affordable veterinary care so people can alter their pets. We need everyone on board, and we need your help to make it happen. This is a COMMUNITY problem and we need our community’s help. PLEA AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER OR RESCUE TAG Marigold A396221, 5 years old, 70.0 LBS Heartworm Positive Marigold, a sweet and friendly girl, found her way to the shelter in early March as a stray. After her arrival, we discovered she had a fracture in her ankle. Scheduled for orthopedic surgery on Monday, March 18th, 2024, Marigold is now seeking a calm environment to recuperate. During her recovery, she’ll benefit from gentle leash walks 3-4 times a day and crate rest to aid in healing and rebuilding her strength. Marigold adores human company and delights in affection and treats. She’s well-behaved on a leash and enjoys both exploring and lounging in the play yard. If you have any questions about her care following surgery, please feel free to ask. Marigold will come home with detailed instructions for her post-operative care and medication to ensure her comfort during recovery.
