Just before 7 p.m. an orange motorcycle with a teen rider was seen northbound on FM 1485 from the area of FM 3083. Moments later he rounded the curve northbound on FM 1485 just south of FM 2090.
About twenty minutes later a motorcycle accident was reported on FM 1485 near Metts Road.
MCHD and Caney Creek Fire Department responded to meet a Montgomery County Deputy who had run up on the scene. The 16-year-old. not wearing a helmet had been southbound on the same orange motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve while at a high rate of speed. The juvenile ran into the water filled ditch and came to rest in the front yard of a residence.
Just another 8 feet he would have struck a culvert pipe in that ditch. Another twenty feet would have put him in a heavily wooded area.
Instead of working a fatality MCHD was able to treat the boy for cuts and abrasions.
