At 1:45 Tuesday morning New Caney firefighters were once again awaken for a commercial fire on McCleskey Road at Legion Drive. When they arrived the owner of Concrete Products Incorporated met them. His company had just started moving into the building Monday afternoon. As they were sandblasting the filtration system that was left behind by the previous owner ignited and flashed. The second floor and walls ignited.
New Caney called for a second alarm for man power and water. Porter, Splendora, Caney Creek and River Plantation Fire Departments responded to assist.
Fire crews returned to service just before 4 a.m.
