PRECINCT 5 DEPUTIES SEARCHING FOR ESCAPEE FINDS ANOTHER DOPE STASH

Friday night got quite active in West Montgomery County for one Montgomery County Precinct 5 Deputy. The deputy who was on patrol in the Woodland Oaks Subdivision observed a black Chevrolet which appeared to be involved in a road rage incident. He attempted to stop the vehicle but the vehicle sped up. In front of a home on Brown Bark the vehicle stopped and the deputy approached the vehicle having the suspect step out. He then hand cuffed the suspect and sat him on the ground as he ran the drivers license.

All at once the suspect, identified as Bradley Dejanovitz, 26 was able to get the cuffs in front of him and fled across a fence into the yard of a home. Deputy Williams called for backup and as he looked in the front seat of the vehicle found a loaded AK-47 in the front seat and a small amount of narcotics.

Backups arrived a short time later and a started a search. As they went into the backyard of the home deputies found a broken window. Fearing the suspect could be inside and possibly holding the the residents against their will additional units were called. That is when they found a ocean going shipping container in the backyard with a hole cut out and and air conditioning unit running. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office who now had a dog on scene approached the unit and alerted on narcotics. The odor from the air conditioner was strong enough the deputies could smell it also.

A search warrant was secured and deputies entered the home in search of the suspect as others cut the lock on the container and discovered fourteen marijuana plants inside complete with grow lamps.

The suspect or the residents were not inside the home but they did find smoking pipes throughout the home. two bongs a complete camera security system. The dog also alerted to a closet where they found a hidden room inside the closet with a safe. With the dog also alerting on the safe, it was seized and taken back to the office where the Magnolia Fire Department was called, and using their JAWS opened the safe. Inside 27.5 ounces of hydro-marijuana was found, $3600, scales and many weapons AK-47, .45, 9mm, .380, a stun gun and a 30-30.

The search also continued for the suspect as deputies searched the house but he was not found in the area. The homeowner was found to be on vacation and was unaware of the incident or the discovery of the marijuana until they were contacted by deputies.

Just after 7am the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call at the McDonalds on FM 1488 and FM 2978. There, the suspect was located. His mother came to pick him up and after learning what had happened convinced him to turn himself in.

When Dejanovitz was returned to the Precinct 5 Constables Office several think came to light. He told deputies the reason he finally pulled over where he did was that it was his best friends house. He also told the deputies when he fled through the woods with the cuffs on he ran into a tree and knocked himself out. He told them he spent most of the night in the woods.When he cam,e to he was able to slip one cuff and went to the La Quinta to use the phone, not being allowed to he went to Jack In The Box and there to was refused use of the phone. He then walked across the street to McDonalds where they allowed him to use the phone to call his mother.
