At 1:45 pm Tuesday a teen was driving east on SH 242 when he attempted to turn left into Summer Set Estates on Summerset Estates Blvd. He failed to yield to an eastbound Dodge Journey, which struck him almost head-on. There were minor injuries. SH 242 was closed and firefighters set cones up to block traffic. Still, drivers can’t wait and ignore traffic control devices going through ditches along the shoulders and such. One female driver did just that. Driving a gold Honda Pilot she decided to drive around the scene on the eastbound shoulder. She did not see the stake from a construction sign that had been knocked down that was protruding from the ground, Driving along the shoulder she ran over it blowing out two tires.
