The annual Texas Warrant Round-Up begins Saturday, March 1st, 2014.
Law Enforcement agencies across Texas will combine forces to actively search for and arrest individuals with active warrants. For the first time the Montgomery County Collections Department will formally participate in the round-up.
The Montgomery County Collections Department collects for all five County Courts at Law and Justices of the Peace Precincts 1, 2, 3 and 5. Individuals with warrants for outstanding balances or failure to appear (FTA) should attempt to take care of these cases before the Warrant Round-Up special emphasis begins on March 1, 2014. Traffic tickets are paid at the respective JP’s Office, misdemeanor cases are paid at the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office.
Individuals who do not take advantage of this opportunity risk being arrested at any location they may be found, including their home, school or workplace.
If you are unsure about your situation, you can run a search on your name via the Montgomery County website. Go to www.mctx.org and look under the Department C tab and click on Collections. There you will find links that will allow you to search by name for both traffic tickets and misdemeanor cases.
