Friday night Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable Sgt. McHugh spotted a white Chevrolet HHR leaving the Palace Inn on US 59 heading north on the feeder. McHugh thought the vehicle looked suspicious and followed. It was then it was determined the vehicle had been stolen in LaPorte in mid-August. Waiting for back-up, McHugh continued to follow as the vehicle entered the Wal-Mart parking lot at FM 1314 and US 59. As the vehicle parked McHugh ordered the driver and his passenger out of the vehicle. After running both for warrants , was determined the driver of the stolen vehicle who said he borrowed it from a friend in Houston, had an invalid drivers license. He was arrested and taken to the Montgomery County Jail.
