At dark when they lost air support these firefighters moved into heavy fire and took it on head-on. Due to that several homes have been saved. During the daylight hours helicopters and two fixed wing aircraft including a DC-10 supported the firefighters to bring the fire under control. Dry conditions are expected to last until the weekend when forecasters are calling for rain. This afternoon the humidity was down to desert conditions of 12%.
