CRASH ON FM 1485 TAKES LIFE OF CONROE WOMAN

Just before 9 pm East Montgomery County Fire and Porter Fire were dispatched to a reported head-on crash on FM 1485 near Gene Campbell. It was reported a person was ejected and lying in the road. A Saddle Creek Wrecker arrived and confirmed the victim was ejected. He also reported he was parked at the scene as many motorists were driving through the scene and almost running over the victim lying in the roadway. EMC fire arrived and confirmed the 25-year-old female, from Conroe had been ejected and was deceased. The driver and a passenger in a Ford F-150 were trapped and required JAWS to remove them from the vehicle. The driver of that vehicle was taken to Kingwood in critical condition. His female passenger was also transported to Kingwood. A female and her two children in a Jeep escaped injury. The initial investigation by DPS was that a female in a Jeep was northbound on FM 1485. The deceased victim had been driving a Toyota Corolla at a speed unsafe for the wet roads. She was also northbound on FM 1485 and clipped the left rear bumper of the Jeep. The collision caused the Toyota to go into the oncoming lane of southbound traffic at an angle and start to roll. That was when the southbound Ford F-150 struck the passenger side and roof of the vehicle, ripping the vehicle open and ejecting the female Toyota driver. FM 1485 was closed for almost 3-hours as the crash was investigated. It was not raining at the time but the roads were wet from the earlier downpours. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn was contacted for the inquest he ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. EMC Wreckers removed both the Ford and Toyota from the scene. The Jeep only suffered minor damage to the rear steel bumper and was drivable.  DPS Troopers notified the next of kin, however, the name has not yet been released. DPS was assisted by Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable Deputies.
