MONTGOMERY COUNTY FLOOD ADVISORY

Flood Advisory issued April 6 at 1:57 AM CDT until April 6 at 5:00 AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
Alert: * WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected, particularly in the vicinity of Interstate
45.
* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Montgomery and Walker.
* WHEN…Until 500 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas,
particularly in the vicinity of Interstate 45 from Willis to New
Waverly.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 157 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small-stream
flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area in the next hour or so. This additional rain
will result in minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage
locations.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Willis and New Waverly.
Instructions: Turn around, and don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
