DRUNK WITH 5TH DWI HITS DEPUTIES VEHICLE

Thursday night a Montgomery County Deputy was alerted to a hit and run crash in the Valley Ranch Subdivision. He was told a witness was following the vehicle. When the deputy arrived he found the person to be following the hit and run vehicle was the deputies neighbor. He then learned the vehicle struck was the deputies personal pickup truck parked in front of his home. At that point, the deputy contacted the DPS to work the accident. The Trooper arrested Charles Everett Johnson, 27, of 20192 Rebecca Ln #21 in New Caney. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on DWI 3 or more and his bond was set at $0. When Judge Maginnis learned of the arrest she immediately revoked his probation he had on cases in her court. The cases were a felony DWI in 2017 in which he was placed on 10-years probation. He was also was charged on another DWI on June 4, 2020, for which he was on a $15,000 bond which she revoked.
Johnson has an extensive record.

On August 7, 2018, Judge McGinnis signed a motion to revoke probation and put Johnson on a $100,000 bond. This after he failed to report for probation for 12-months, consumed alcohol on February 28, 2018, and oxycodone on February 23, 2018. In addition a diluted urinalysis on November 15, 2017, May 11, June 19, and July 5, 2018. H also failed to submit urinalysis 83 times.
On September 12, 2019, Judge McGinnis ordered Johnson to a residential treatment facility on September 24, 2019, for 90 days. Then on June 1, 2020, she issued an arrest warrant for Johnson after he tested positive on several occasions for opiates. She set a bond of $80,000. But he was then released on a $10000 bond and ordered to report to an outpatient facility since COVID prevented inpatient. He was also to have a leg monitor installed.
