About 3p.m. this afternoon Caney Creek, New Caney and River Plantation Fire Departments responded to a garage fire on Old Houston Road near Springfield.
A Montgomery County Animal Control Officer driving down the road spotted it and notified the owner that fire was coming out of the front of the garage.
When firefighters arrived the garage was totally involved. It took about thirty-minutes to bring it under control and put out grass fires near it that the fire sparked.
The owner said it was a total loss. Inside besides tools he had a game rook complete with pool table which was also destroyed.
The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating..
