HARD FREEZE WATCH

…HARD FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH
WEDNESDAY MORNING…
…WIND ADVISORY IS CANCELLED…

* WHAT…Freezing temperatures, possibly below 24 degrees for more
than 2 hours is a possibility.

* WHERE…Houston, Trinity, Madison, Walker, San Jacinto, Polk,
Grimes and Montgomery Counties.

* WHEN…From late tonight through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS…Freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive
vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Some high cloudiness is expected. Should it
become thicker than currently forecast, readings may not fall 24
degrees. We will continue to monitor and update the forecast as
necessary. The Watch may be upgraded to a warning later today.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
