Just before 5 am Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a single vehicle accident on Daw Collins Road at FM 2090. When they arrived along with Splendora Fire Department and MCHD nobody was around the vehicle. It appeard the vehicle was northbound on Daw Collins when the driver failed to negotiate the curve. He continued through the ditch , hitting a utility pole and pivoting around it coming to rest at a private driveway.
Some thirty-minute later as deputies waited on the arrival of a trooper to work the crash a wrecker driver reported and man walking in the street on Daw Collins almost to FM 2090. Deputies determined he was the driver.
