Just after 3 am Caney Creek Fire Department and Central Montgomery County Fire Departments were dispatched to a major accident with rollover on SH 242 at the intersection of FM 1314. When they arrived on the scene they found a Chevrolet Uplander almost 100 feet off the road with extensive damage to the drivers side. There were two victims in the vehicle , one was critical.
The other vehicle and Ford Explorer Sport Trax was on its side on the northwest corner of the intersection. There were three victims in that vehicle. One female, 19-years-old had lost a right hand and had severe damage to her left hand. She was transported to Houston in critical condition.
Troopers were unable to get identities on all the victims as of yet and have not determined what happened. They believe one of the vehicles ran the red light but besides the seriously injured occupants there were no witnesses at the scene.
Troopers matched both vehicles to the damage to better understand how the crash took place.
DPS is requesting anyone who may have seen this crash to contact DPS.
