At 9:23 pm Tuesday evening, the New Waverly Fire Department and Walker County EMS were dispatched to an aircraft down in a field off Jones Rd. , north of the City of New Waverly.
Rescue crews used GPS coordinates to locate the downed aircraft approximately 1000 yds from the roadway. The New Waverly Fire Department deployed a UTV rescue vehicle to reach the site and rescue the pilot, who was the lone occupant.
The pilot was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
DPS Troopers are securing the scene and the NTSB has been notified.
