A 49-year-old male has been reported lost while hiking in the Sam Houston National Forest Monday evening. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office along with Montgomery County Search and Rescue are searching an area approximately eight miles north of Montgomery.
Officials have cell phone communications with the individual and are attempting to triangulate to his location. At this point he has a strong cell phone battery and flashlights.According to officials medically he is sound, he is simply just lost.
The search started close to 9 p.m. Monday evening and at 1:30am continues.
