SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT-STRONG THUNDERSTORMS

SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
ISSUED: 7:16 PM APR. 17, 2022 – NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
…A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southeastern Grimes,
west central Montgomery and northeastern Waller Counties through 800
PM CDT…

At 715 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Magnolia, or near Pinehurst, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Conroe, Willis, Pinehurst, The Woodlands, Panorama Village, Magnolia,
Cut And Shoot, Montgomery, Woodloch, Todd Mission, Lake Conroe Dam,
Dobbin and Plantersville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
