Trinity River Update

From: Liberty County Office of Emergency Management

June 1

5 pm

Current release from the Lake Livingston Dam has been DECREASED to 68,200 cfs.

Trinity River levels:

Romayor 37.6

Liberty 29.93

Moss Bluff 14.2

All reporting stations appear to be fairly stable and hopefully we will begin to see a slight decrease in river levels due to the decrease from the dam. We will simply have to wait and see how everything plays out.

We are asking  anyone that suffered flood damage to their home during this event to give us a call at 936-334-3219.  We are maintaining a list of  damaged homes in preparation of conducting damage assessments once the flood waters recede.

Also, residents that have damaged homes due to the flooding can call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 and register. Liberty County HAS NOT received a presidential disaster declaration as this will not happen until we reach our damage threshold of $ 269,289.00.  We encourage residents to register with FEMA so that if we receive the declaration FEMA can expedite your claim.

The Red Cross shelter remains open at 318 San Jacinto Street in Liberty.

Residents that want to leave their homes are welcome to stay at the shelter.  Please make your move during daylight hours.
