On 04-17-09 at 6:30 pm Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch aired a “be on the look out call” for a drunk driver who was driving reckless on FM 1314 in Porter. The vehicle was reported to be a gray Chevy SUV, with damage to the front fender and driving on a flat tire that was ground down to the rim.

Constable Hayden and Chief Deputy Barry Welch were in the area and located the suspected drunk driver stuck in traffic at a red light intersection of FM 1314 and Hwy 59. Both Welch and Hayden tried to make contact with the driver, but the driver would not roll down his windows, he locked all doors on his vehicle and would not take the SUV out of gear. Before the intersection light could turn green, Welch had to force entry into the SUV by breaking the window out on the passenger side, the suspect was able to be distracted long enough for Hayden to gain access of the driver’s side door. The vehicle was turned off, and the suspect was pulled from the vehicle. There were no injuries during this incident.
